Shauna joined the Imagine Health team in 2022 and is a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Shauna qualified in 2015 with a Bachelors (Hons) Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy additionally to that Shauna obtained a BA in Counselling skills and youth Studies in 2013 both completed from The Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences (ICHAS). Shauna has also received a certificate in Applied Social Studies.

Shauna is fully accredited  with The National Association of Professional Counselling & Psychotherapy (NAPCP) and a registered member of British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and Irish Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapists.

She has worked in various mental health settings since 2011 and has over 10 years experience in the field, both in Ireland and Australia. Shauna has a wide range of experience in working with clients who may experience Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Stress, Work Life Balance, Depression, Self-Esteem, Confidence, Bereavement, Isolation and Loneliness.

 

Shauna’s aim is create a non judgemental,  safe therapeutic space that helps encourage self-awareness and personal growth. Shauna’s main modality is Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT).  She is passionate about her client’s needs and uses skills of CBT and integrates a range of different theories, approaches and techniques. Shauna combines Mindfulness techniques to increase one’s self-awareness and growth mind-set.  Shauna adapts these integrative skills based on her clients individual needs, helping clients find strategies and coping mechanisms to better manage and challenge unwanted thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

 

Shauna is open to learning and is always up-skilling and attending regular courses keeping her informed and up-to-date with new approaches and techniques.
