Aoife is a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, accredited with the BABCP. She completed her training at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London and has worked for the NHS for over 8 years. During this time, she has worked for several psychological therapy services across London, including the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma. She is experienced in tailoring evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders, including OCD, social anxiety and panic disorder and depression, low self-esteem and body image difficulties. She has a particular interest in trauma-based reactions and PTSD and has extension experience and training in treating complex-PTSD.
Aoife has been practicing mindfulness meditation for over a decade and regularly attends retreats and has taught mindfulness classes. She has also attended compassion focused therapy training with the compassionate mind foundation and enjoys incorporating elements of mindfulness and self-compassion in her therapy.
As a therapist, Aoife values how individuals make sense of their experience and their lives and enjoys helping her clients forward toward their goals. She is committed to providing a trusting, respectful and confidential space during therapy sessions. She believes creating a strong therapeutic relationship is the primary driver that facilitates change.
