Gemma is an IACP-accredited, Integrative Psychotherapist who joined the Imagine Health team in 2024. With an honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Gemma possesses a strong foundation in therapeutic theory and clinical practice.
Gemma has undertaken specialist training in Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Perinatal Mental Health, equipping her to support individuals and couples through relationship difficulties, emotional distress, and the psychological challenges associated with pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. Her CBT training enables her to help clients identify and work through unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours, while her couples training supports partners in navigating communication, connection, and change together. In addition, Gemma has training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body-based approach that explores the mind–body connection and can be particularly helpful for clients with a history of trauma. This integrative blend of approaches allows Gemma to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, offering a thoughtful and comprehensive path toward healing and growth.
Gemma is passionate about supporting both individuals and couples as they navigate relationship dynamics, identity shifts, parenthood, and other major life transitions. Her approach focuses on helping clients gain clarity and practical tools—whether they are adjusting to life with a new baby, working through emotional challenges, or seeking to strengthen their relationships. Her style is warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth, creating a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves and exploring their experiences at their own pace.
Gemma’s interest in well-being extends beyond the therapy room. She is fascinated by the body’s innate capacity to heal and believes in nurturing the body’s natural resources. This philosophy informs her interest in the role of lifestyle choices, including nutrition, in supporting emotional and physical well-being.
