Ian received his BSc in Applied Psychology from the National University of Ireland, Cork in 1996 and his MSc in Forensic Psychology from the University of Leicester in 1997. He went on to train in Australia for two years before returning to Ireland to study medicine at Trinity College Dublin, obtaining his medical degree in 2004. His junior surgical training took place in tertiary care hospitals within Ireland. This experience provided Ian with a profound appreciation for the interconnectedness of physical health and emotional well-being.
Following the receipt of an MBA from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Ian established Imagine Health in 2009 with an ambition to promote all things Psychology! Ian is a Registered and Chartered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), the British Psychological Society (BPS), and the American Psychological Association (APA). He is a registered General Medical Practitioner with the Irish Medical Council. He is also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in Great Britain. Ian has served as Chair of the BPS Division of Forensic Psychology and is Chair-Elect of the Professional Practice Board. He is also shortly to become a BPS Trustee. Ian is an Honorary Lecturer and External Examiner with the University of Nottingham.
