Halloween – Unveiling Your Personal Masks

Halloween is upon us! It’s a fun time to dress up as someone else and wear a mask to be a different person. However, for some people, it can often feel as though they are wearing personal masks in their everyday lives; their professional masks in work, their social masks with their friends and loved ones and their emotional masks to disguise how they are truly feeling.

It is not unusual for people to feel as though they need to appear, behave and perform in a certain way to suit the different situations they are in. However, it is important for people to be true to who they are and how they are feeling.

Halloween is a time for wearing masks, but it can also be used as a time to unveil your personal masks that may be hiding who you truly are!

Questions to acknowledge your true self

  2. What do I consider my greatest accomplishment in life?
  3. What do I consider my purpose in life?
  4. If I had all the money in the world, what would I do?
  5. Who do I admire the most?
  6. If there were no limits to what I could have or could want in my life, what would that be?

It’s important to ask yourself these vital questions. If you struggle with coming up with an answer instantly, make sure to listen to the inner voice that answers in your mind. Listening to your inner voice will help you become more aware of your beliefs and identity.

Sometimes, to be true to ourselves, we need to make changes in our lives. These changes can range from physical appearance such as your hair style or colour, to the way you live your life and the people you interact with. Empower yourself to ensure you can make changes in your life that will enhance how you live.

Commit to your choices and decisions, sometimes in a world with so much choice available to us, we often find it difficult to make decisions for ourselves without validation from others. Make sure to learn to trust your instincts and follow your own choices, regardless of how others feel or behave.

Explore and try new things to find out what your likes and dislikes are – life is too short to be doing things that you don’t enjoy!
