Richard is an accredited psychotherapist providing counselling and professional training services at HIV Ireland (formerly Dublin AIDS Alliance) for twenty years, including outreach and prison-based work. Richard offers an eclectic solution-oriented skill set drawn from Systemic Counselling & Consultancy, NLP/Developmental Behavioural Modelling, Ericksonian hypnosis, Narrative and Mindfulness approaches. He is a guest lecturer at the UCD School of Health Sciences.
Richard has extensive experience working in the areas of stress/anxiety/depression, relationship challenges, career planning, motivation, creative/peak performance skills, sexuality/sexual health and adolescence. Richard is an alumnus of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and in 2015 was the recipient of the Catherine O’Connor award from the SSSTDI. He was the performance coach for members of the cast of Riverdance – The Show, Anúna and the 2015 European weightlifting champion.
Richard also has a technical background and has pioneered a number of online mental health solutions including designing and developing the My Mind Matters 3rd level mental health portal and the online counselling systems for the University of Leeds, TCD, UCD and DKIT.
Richard joined the Imagine Health team in 2016.
